Remuneration
The purpose of this remuneration policy is to prevent remuneration from resulting in improper treatment of clients or other risk‑taking behaviour that could have a negative impact on ADM Investor Services Europe as well as on the financial sector as a whole. This includes ensuring, where possible, that employees are not incentivised through remuneration to treat clients carelessly or to fail to comply with the firm’s duty of care.
A fundamental principle of the remuneration policy is that ADM Investor Services Europe benefits from a stable, diverse and highly qualified workforce and therefore applies a gender‑neutral and market‑conform remuneration structure.
Employees of ADM Investor Services Europe are employed on a salaried basis and receive a fixed remuneration.
In certain cases, a limited variable remuneration may be awarded in addition to the fixed remuneration. ADM Investor Services Europe seeks to ensure that such variable remuneration does not give rise to undesirable incentives and that an appropriate balance is maintained between an employee’s fixed remuneration and any variable remuneration awarded.
The award of variable remuneration is always discretionary and depends on the performance of the relevant employee. In assessing performance, both financial and non‑financial performance indicators are taken into account, including customer satisfaction and responsible risk behaviour.
The non‑financial performance indicators focus on careful, ethical and client‑oriented conduct. In addition, ADM Investor Services Europe retains the right, under certain circumstances, to adjust or reclaim variable remuneration. Due to the structure of the remuneration policy, in which fixed remuneration is the primary component, and the additional safeguards applied to variable remuneration, the policy does not encourage undesirable behaviour such as excessive or irresponsible risk‑taking.
Variable remuneration is generally paid in cash.
Where variable remuneration is awarded, it will not exceed the statutory cap of 20 percent of the fixed remuneration.
The total amount of variable remuneration paid by ADM Investor Services Europe in a given calendar year is disclosed in the annual accounts for that year.
